Lamenting the state of the World as a context for our gathering in these times. Grieving what has been Lost, the pain, the fragmentation, the suffering. Followed by prayers and songs from the elders. Opening the grief shrine as a place to visit and make offerings throughout the weekend.

We will welcome the Maidens into the community of women by orienting them to the fullness of the cycles ahead as they awaken to the inner rhythms of their own bodies. We will introduce the great cycles of nature as they express in macrocosm through the outer seasons, the phases of the moon, and the stages of the woman’s soul journey, as well as their corollaries in microcosm revealed by the inner seasons of the menstrual cycle. Our daughters will be invited to begin to claim their birthrights as novice Priestesses while we explore the skills of devotional tending to the Temple of Self in reciprocal relationship with the Temple of Earth.

We recognize that working with the archetypal energies and life stages is new for many, and without the initiatory gateways in place, we can be unsure of where we are in the spiral. It is also true that we can straddle multiple life stages and that different energies can be so alive within us during periods of transition. The purpose of this gathering is to make visible the beauty and gifts of each life stage/archetype so that we can more deeply claim the medicine of where we are, where we have been and where we are going. If you want to dive deeper into the archetypes and reflect upon where you are in the spiral, then join us in this circle.

Come cocoon in our cozy Gaian den for this late-night serpentine slurp into the unity of all things. We will sip herbal tea, surrender to mystery and slither into a loving nest to gently die and be re-born again. This is an opportunity to be cradled in Gaia’s fertile womb and attune with the sacred cycles that reveal how we can eat our own tails with grace. From the fertile darkness, sparks of energy awaken and shimmer. The necessary nutrients to support life reveal themselves from deep within moist earth. Old skins shed, eternal spirals continue their dance around and around with boundless love that leads us through the cosmic yoni to the fire of living presence at the center of the universe.

This morning, the Maidens will turn our attention from the Temple of Self, to the Temple of Nature all around us. First there will be a discussion of the Maiden Tasks of this life phase of becoming, and we will learn to journey to connect to an ally in the Other World to support us in this work. Then we will venture out onto the land to find a plant ally with teachings to offer about our own flowering, and we will make flower essences with these ones to distill that medicine to carry with us, and to offer into a collective water blessing we will prepare for the evening’s ceremony.

We strengthen our relational fabric as wise women, vitalize these life cycles within and without, and, in doing so, nurture the young ones as they feel the nourishment and return of the village.
